The society is most involved with MedInfoNOW while Doody Enterprises is building a customized version of the service to the society's specifications. During this development phase, society staff must provide Doody Enterprises with:
- graphics of the society's brand and logo;
- the society's own name for the MedInfoNOW service (see the Typical brands link at the Medical Societies page);
- a list of journal article topics of greatest interest to its members;
- a list of books written by key members of the society;
- a "default" profile reflecting a typical member's specialty interests in the book literature and topical interests in the journal article literature.
- the society's member database in electronic format.
Once the site has been launched to members, the most successful societies use the Knowledge Manager Web site to
- post news and announcements of interest to its members to run in the Weekly Literature Update;
- refine the list of book titles the society wants to highlight at the Web site;
- use its existing print and electronic communications with its members to promote the service; and
- monitor its members' usage of the service.
Doody Enterprises provides the society with semiannual reports documenting the society members' usage of the service.
