A weekly literature update service.  Society members with valid e-mail addresses will receive the Weekly Literature Update sent by e-mail and featuring

  • society news;
  • personalized, pre-sorted searches of new book and software information; and
  • personalized, pre-sorted expert searches of new journal article citations added to Medline® in the specialty areas each individual member designates.

A private-label Web site.  A content-rich Web site branded in the society’s name, accessible through a link from the society’s home page and featuring

  • a comprehensive database of book and software titles (Doody’s Book Review Service™);
  • the last 52 weeks of articles added to Medline® (Online Literature Review); and
  • a profiling system that lets each member filter new developments in the literature according to his/her personal areas of interest.

Doody’s Book Review Service™.  The most comprehensive database of health science book and software information (including Doody’s expert reviews) which provides registered members with

  • the ability to conduct sophisticated searches of the most comprehensive database of information on 70,000 book and software titles in the health sciences; and
  • the opportunity to purchase book and software titles (often at discounted prices) through a seamless e-commerce connection to two leading Internet bookstores.

Online Literature Review. The time-saving service filtering the most recent updates of journal article citations and abstracts from the Medline® database to each individual user’s topical areas of interest. Societies offer their members this service either free of charge or through a 60-day free trial. Members interested in subscribing then pay a heavily-discounted subscription fee to continue to get Online Literature Review, which features:

  • articles added to Medline® in the last seven days featured in the Weekly Literature Update;
  • the last 52 weeks of Medline® updates accessible at the Web Site;
  • the entire Medline® database accessible through a seamless link to the PubMed Web site; and
  • links to journal publishers’ gateways to online versions of the journal article.
