In 1996 Doody Enterprises introduced its literature update service for healthcare professionals under the generic name of MedInfoNOW to 500 members of The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International. Today multiple societies license the service for their members, and the service has more than 300,000 registered users.
A distinguished group of active users of the service, representing many of the societies which license the service for their members, serves as the Editorial Advisory Board, meeting annually to offer their input on how the service can be improved and made more useful and valuable to busy healthcare professionals.
