The fifth annual edition of Doody's Core Titles (DCT), to be published in May 2008, will for the first time feature sponsors’ ads on all of its web pages. This essential collection development tool for health sciences librarians is recognized as the successor to the Brandon/Hill Select Lists, which served the library community for almost 40 years before ceasing publication.

 

The DCT website has five separate pages open to the general public and thousands of pages available to licensed users. DCT is sold as an institutional license, allowing all members of a licensing institution or library secure access to all pages. Licensees have access to the edition they have purchased for 3 years after original publication. More than 4,000 individuals connected with these licensing institutions search and browse DCT on a regular basis and countless more access the public pages.

 

Available Banner and Sidebar Slots

The DCT website features standard-sized banner and sidebar slots recommended by the Interactive Advertising Bureau. Specifications are as follows:

 

  • Banner: 468 pixels wide x 60 pixels high
  • Sidebar: 180 pixels wide x 150 pixels high

Both types of sponsorship opportunities appear on a white background on every page throughout the site. Banner ads always appear “above the fold.”

 

Pricing

 

DCT sponsorship opportunities are sold in two 6-month periods. The first period, from May 1 – October 31, is priced at a premium because it coincides with the publication every year of the newest edition of DCT. The pricing schedule follows.

DCT Sponsor Terms

 

  • Pricing is not based on impressions or click-through rates. Doody Enterprises does not guarantee a minimum number of impressions in the course of a period.
  • No more than three banner sponsors will be accepted for a period. An unlimited number of sidebar sponsors will be accepted each period. 
  • Sponsors can change their ad as frequently as monthly. We recommend that sponsors’ ads link to their home page or to a web page they control which appeals to DCT users.
  • Sponsor ads must be a static image within the supplied specifications; we will not accept applets, animation or JavaScript.
  • Doody Enterprises is not responsible for the viability of a sponsor’s link.
  • Send your image as a .GIF or .JPG file to steve@doody.com.
  • A sponsor’s image may include the company’s name and logo, brief descriptive copy, and contact information for the company (including Web address). In order for the ad to be legible, we recommend you do not overcrowd the available ad space with text.
